  The Eiffel Tower which has been constructed between 1987 and 1889 by Gustave Eiffel is the symbol of Paris (France). This tower made of 7300 tons of steel consists of roughly 18000 pieces and 2.5 million rivets. Its height (including the flagpole) is 324 m.
On the right side of the photo you can see the Palais de Chaillot (northwest of the Eiffel Tower, across the river Seine), the park left of the Eiffel Tower (southeast of the tower) is the Parc du Champ de Mars. |
